Australian Shepherd - Kobe

Kobe is a a big happy boy, now. At the time of his GrandMother commissioning his pet portrait Kobe had just scared his paw-rents into multiple vet visits, xrays and scans as he was very poorly. Unable to find a diagnosis of what was causing his illness, it was everyone’s great relief when a slightly mangled dog toy made a (re)appearance.

Back to his usual handsome happy self now, Kobe’s paw-rents (Naomi and Rhys) will be super happy to receive his pet portrait for Christmas.

I loved drawing Kobe. I don’t think I’ve ever met a Australian Shepherd in real life but the swirls of bold colour in his magnificant coat and piercing eyes, that just reach out and grab you, were an absolute joy to draw. He is a handsome boy and I really hope I can meet him in person one day.

Kobe’s 10”x8 portrait was drawn with Faber-Castell Polychromos pencils.
