When Booking a Pet Portrait ~

  • Digital is my preference, as it makes it easier for me to adapt the image I use for your pet portrait. Please send them to me in as high a resolution as possible, as it will give me more opportunity to capture the detail in your portrait.

The most important part is that the subject in focus, fills the frame and natural lighting is used, not flash. It’s also helpful to share several images as this can give more insight to your pet’s character which I can pass onto the portrait

  • More often than not I’ll be using Faber-Castell or Derwent Chromaflow coloured pencils. Derwents are my preferred, mostly because they’re manufactured in the UK!

  • A full list of size options can be viewed on my Prices page

  • Theoretically yes. In additional to domestic animal portraits, I have drawn a number of exotic animals from Africa including a Giraffe, a beautiful Namibian Sable and an African Buffalo

  • I endevour to capture as much likeness to your pet as I can possibly achieve and work with you to do this. I ask for particular nuances that your pet displays, whether it’s the cocking of their head or the bend in their ear or whiskers. The more you share, the more it helps me.
The final balence payment is only due when you are entirely happy with your pet portrait. Some people like to see progress images of their portrait. I am happy to do this, please just let me know. If not, I send a final scan for you to approve and at that time any amendments can be made.
Fortunately all my customers have been delighted with their portraits. Please review some of the lovely testimonials I’ve had from the recipients of my pet portraits.

  • My waiting list is normally 8-10 weeks but this can be longer in the lead up to Christmas. For example, I will be taking commissions for Christmas as early as July / August if you’re that oirganised!

  • Payment can be made by cheque to Natasha Woodford or directly into my bank account. I do ask for 30% non-refundable deposit before I start work and the balance is due upon completion before shipment.

  • If you are in the UK, postage is charged at a flat rate of £10. If you are in the USA or Europe there will be an additional charge as shipping rates vary. For all destinations outside of the UK, please contact me with your address for an accurate shipping quote

  • Most of my pet portraits have been for UK customers. If you require it to be sent overseas, please contact me with your pet portrait’s destination as there will be an additional postage cost to add to the balence

  • Yes. Sharing my work is how I grow my business and attract new clients. However if the drawing is a suprise gift for someone I’m more than happy to delay sharing your pet’s portrait until you’ve gifted it. This way you can keep it a surprise. As ever please communicate this to me upon booking as I endevour to adapt my work to suit individual preferences

  • No. I am sorry but drawing people is not where my joy stems from. I will consider any animal/pet - feathers, scales, hair or fur!
